Beetles are the group of insects and are one of the most successful insects in terms of surviving. There are more species of beetle than the species of plants. A beetle's head consists of two pairs one has one pair of antennae and other has a pair of compound eyes. The thorax consists of two pairs of wings and three pairs of legs as well. The abdomen includes the reproductive organs of the beetles. They have three major body segments: the head, thorax, and abdomen like other insects and is covered with a hard layer which protects the body and internally supports all the organs.

The life span of a beetle ranges from a few months in some species to more than 4 years in others. Adult beetles range in size from 0.01 to almost 8 inches in body length, but antennae of some are much longer than their bodies. Beetles usually have hard bodies. Most beetles are dark brown or black, but many are red, blue, green, purple or a combination of colors.
